Kamaole 1 Beach Clean Up pilot Project

Establishing ongoing funding for environmental restoration and management projects within the Kamaole Ahupuaa is top priority. The Kamaole 1 Beach Clean-Up Pilot Project is a collaboration between residents, visitors, private landowners, state and county governments and the business community that will lead the way to improved ocean water quality, reduced runoff and sedimentation, increased biodiversity and improved beach conditions for all.

10, 20, 30 year Timeline

Longterm planning and project implementation will start the process of improving the environment. The Kamaole Ahupuaa Environmental Restoration and Management Plan (KA-ERMP) is the blueprint to guide our community to meet our 10, 20 and 30 year environmental improvement goals. Ecosystem restoration, runoff reduction, and cesspool remediation are longterm projects that will create jobs for the young workforce and more importantly begin the journey down the timeline towards a better future.

Identifying partners and how they can contribute

Residents, visitors, hotels, businesses, private landowners, and government are all key stakeholders playing a vital role in the success of the Modern Day Kamaole Ahupuaa.

Longterm Funding objectives.

Funding the 10, 20 and 30 year environmental restoration and management goals through a collaborative network within the Ahupuaa gives the key stakeholders the chance to make a noticeable difference within their community.

Youth Mentoring Program

Preparing the next generation of leaders through active involvement in the development and implementation of the Kamaole Ahupuaa Public Relations and Marketing Plan (PRMP), Environmental Restoration and Management Plan (ERMP), and the Geographic Information Services Plan (GISP) will insure the 10, 20 and 30 plans will have the dedicated experts to see them through. Community service hours, focused extracurricular educational activities for job and college entrance applications, career sampling and summer work opportunities are at the core of our success.

Volunteer Program

Community participation programs for residents, visitors and youth will create awareness and involvement.
